Micro Irrigation and Piping Divisions Major Contributors

Jain Irrigation, the agricultural major, has posted 37.8% growth (on YOY basis) in revenues at Rs. 3,023 million for Q3 FY 2006-07. Exports contributed 33% of the revenue at Rs. 996 million during the quarter reflecting 42.4% growth YOY. The domestic growth of 35.6% reflects the continued strong demand for its agricultural input products. The operating EBIDTA at Rs.559.90 million grew by over 73.61%. The profit after tax has more than doubled at Rs. 313 million as compared to Rs. 152 million on YOY basis.

MIS division at Rs. 996 million, PVC sheets at Rs. 530 million and PVC Pipes at Rs. 686 million were the three largest contributors while MIS at 86%, PVC Pipes at 63%, Fruit at 46% were the highest growing divisions of the Company in Q3 FY2006-07. The Company is looking forward to improve this growth level in the in short term in last quarter of FY 2006-07. Incidentally last quarter has historically contributed 40% or more revenues for the Company.

The revenues have grown 43.4% at Rs.7,586 million, in the first nine months of this fiscal. The highest growing divisions are MIS Division 89%, PVC pipes 40%, Fruits 48% and the Net Profit has grown 92% at Rs 651 million in the nine month period.

The Company has completed acquisition of Cascade Specialties Inc. USA recently to become the third largest onion dehydrator globally with a capacity of 25,000 MT per annum.

“Jain Irrigation is gaining critical mass in its various business lines well supported with strong order book due to dynamic growth in domestic markets with the help of increased fund allocation to agriculture, irrigation and infrastructure sector by banks as well as government agencies” said Mr. Anil Jain, Managing Director after the meeting approving the results.
